change of direction 1

God has been so good to bless us with 5 wonderful years in evangelism. We’ve seen many lives changed, and had the opportunity for God to teach us faith in an amazing way. We’ve seen much of our beautiful country, and made many friends. We’ve experienced the various cultures across our diverse land, and enjoyed that remarkable bond that is common only among the family of God.

Although living in a fifth wheel has been challenging in some ways, ours holds many memories in it. Times of pouring our heart out to God in the middle of some of our most difficult trials, and times of ultimate joy as we have welcomed three new babies into our small home. We have laughed and argued as we have elbowed our way through our small space while managing 4 little ones. We’ve learned how to live simply and adopted the motto that “less is more”.

In just a few short weeks, we will wave goodbye to evangelism and begin a new journey that will be filled with different challenges and joys. Pslams 37:4 says to “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Over the past few years, God has put a desire in Ray’s heart to be a pastor, and has changed my heart to desire that for my husband as well. We remained faithful to evangelism while waiting on God to open that perfect door for us to go through. This past Sunday, God began to fulfill that desire as Ray accepted the call to become the Pastor of East Side Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC. We are truly confident that this is God’s new plan for our lives and have that indescribable peace that only He can give.

Yes, I’m sure that we will miss evangelism, especially all of our dear friends, but we look forward to new memories and God continuing the work He has begun in us as we minister in a new way.

God is so good!!
